I have a 2006 with a 1zz-fe. I bought the car a few months ago. i bought it with 110k on it now it has 115k. I changed the oil when i bought to mobil 1 synthetic 5-30. I noticed a tapping or ticking that comes from the negine when it is warmed up. it comes and goes. it does not seem to happen when the engine is cold. I used a stethoscope and seemed to hear it coming from the cyl closest to the passenger side. but there might be a slight tick from the others to. I did a little research and someone suggested it could be the fuel injectors. any help would be appreciated. I know these zz can be a little load.

hopefully it is just the normal ticking of the injectors injecting. Hard to know for sure from way over here I think on the 1ZZ/2ZZ engines minor ticking is typical,

i was thinking it was an injecter but wanted to see what others thought. The clue that it is strange is that when it starts cold it sounds great only after it warms up does it make the sporadic tapping.

mine loves to tick at idle after installing my sri. from what everyone has said sri ,cai will cause ticking and even without those mods the engine may tick alittle but as long as it runs fine
