That pesky main seal leak that bothered me last year has hopefully been solved. When I replaced the seal and put it back together, I forgot to install the guide for the starter sprocket. So the sprocket was able to move a little on the shaft just enough topull itself away from the seal.So apart it came today but this time I flipped the sprocket around and pinned it in place (it only moves when you use the electric starter anyways). Put 'er back together, fired her up and adjusted the points. Ran in the parking lot (no insurance yet) for about 10 minutes and no leaks! In doing this mod I've lost the ability to use the electric start... No worries though, I never used it anyways! It's sooooo much easier to start with the kicker!Now... Where's summer!!!!EDIT: This mod has been reversed. Forgetting that sprocket guide probably killed the seal so I replaced the seal again and put everything back the way it should be... but using the kicker is still the easiest way to start the bike!

nice, man, I can't believe I've never looked at this thread before. I saw it in the "other vehicles" thread and now I'm kind of wanting to learn to ride a motorcycle so I can ride around in a classy old bike like this. My dad and brother both ride, and I once did a cross country trip with my dad on an 80's era Honda CB1100F when I was a kid. I could get back into that..Nice view ya got there, too.

Drained the fork oil.... yummmy... probably the first time since '79...First Alberta ride since I got here. The wind coming off the snow covered fields was a bit nippy...Bike needs to be washed, seat tear didn't like the winter or the trailer ride, and there was a little gravel on the roads...Sylvan Lake
