Air supply duct in engine compartment??

Post by ParknVibe »

In the 2009 with the 2.4L engine, to the right side of the battery, there is a plastic tube with an open end. It sits above the main air filter supply tube. Can anyone tell me what it is for. It is aimed at the black box. I think it is for cooling the box (computer inside I think)? My old car had a heatsink through the air supply duct and the main computer was mounted to the side of the duct to cool it.

It seems to me that it is there to push cooler air into the air filter, i.e. like a cold air intake.
