Need Some Advice

I am looking to purchase a new Vibe. The dealer has 2 in stock and both do not have power locks, windows, keyless entry , or cruise - this is a big factor. The dealer has been trying to locate a Vibe in its region - dealers are not responding, not willing to trade, or etc. Now, with that being said. I know I could get parts over a few months and then have the items added on... You thoughts?

Don't lose sleep over it, G. Nothing wrong with crank windows...it's the only exercise I get (just kidding) My co-worker didn't have any on his Corolla either, but had them added them later.

If that's all they have I say go for it, if you feel fine with having the pieces put on later... have you looked at other dealerships?Too bad they aren't trading, my Vibe was a trade from another dealer.

IF you are getting the car at a really good price where adding these items still makes it a good value, go for it.Just don't go cheap and get the cruddy aftermarket window motors that bolt on and cover where the crank goes and other Iffy stuff.Do it all quality and make sure you'll be happy with it being added instead of factory. You know buying the parts after the sale is going to cost a bunch more than buying it already installed at the factory. If you buy, I'd get the prices right now from the dealers parts department and negotiate a price for what you want, probably their cost I'd imagine or a smidgen above to pay the parts guy at least.Dave

Personally, lack of cruise control is the biggest bummer. I don't know how hard it is to install though. There's nothing really wrong with crank windows as you can roll them down in winter! Plus a little upper body exercise never hurts anybody.I say if you aren't willing to drive all over kingdom come for what you want, get what you can while there's still some left.

Most of the stuff is already there anyway. Why GM didn't spend another $40 and make it standard I will never know. I think you are asking for trouble doing aftermarket power windows and power door locks/keyless entry. [I think you can easily add keyless entry if it already has power locks but I don't think it does.]

I'm 6'4 and fit just fine when I test drove one with a sunroof (did you remember to lower the seat?)... And IMO, all those convenience options (AC included) are just not worth the money paid! But that's just me and my base Vibe talking...

Fully loaded 2010 Ignition Orange Metallic AWD - Sandwich, IL 60548.Personally, I would rather hold out and get a car with everything that I wanted. In my opinion it's better to have everything installed from the factory, especially with the warranty. Just my $.02.

I am going to give it a day or so and see what the dealer can put together. Everything can be added locally; power locks are $75 per door, power windows $150 per door. I can live without the 2 rear doors. I have an extra CC Stalk here already - I did not pay attention to see if there is a location to install it (a blank plastic square) on the steering wheel that knocks out. Maybe the dealer can find a preferred package. *crossing fingers*Oh yeah, I do not NEED a car. Thought just popped into my head and I ran with it...

From my understanding, the dealer called other dealers in OH and IN asking for a Vibe; story is they either sold, have a deposit, waiting for delivery, or unwilling to trade.I just called the dealer that Vibio posted and the salesman said he has not had a Vibe for months - how true it is? I do not know

Got ya.On a bit of a side note, could you post a picture of the Camry shift knob you have? It seems like the silver trim piece on my shift knob is getting loose already. I'd like to see what the leather one looks like. Thanks.

Thanks. That silver piece actually snaps right off - I took off the one from the Camry Leather Knob and used the Vibes. Unscrew the knob and pull each end away from each other, it will snap right off and on again. Once it is snapped off, I would just add some sticky felt or such to make the taps thicker and then reconnect, thus creating more pressure and having less movement. I will try to get some pictures this weekend to show you what I mean.

I had to go out on the road today and went by 3 Pontiac dealers. Did not see one new Vibe. Not one. They are probably very scarce. I'll keep an eye out as I travel around. Might be out tomorrow as well. What's up with your Frosty that you want to nix it so soon in its life cycle? I wouldn't give up my '08. I love that thing. Of course I'm going from a very rattly '99 SW2 Saturn 'Thunder-Wunder-Wagon' to the Vibe. So my perceptions may be skewed just at bit.

Thought this might be of interest:If you wanted to give the gift of Pontiac for the holidays, you’d better act fast. According to a post on Pontiac’s official Twitter feed, there are only about 4300 cars unsold at dealers nationwide. Currently, Pontiac inventory includes:-16 G8 GXPs-570 G8 GTs-1500 G5 coupes-400 Torrent SUVs-23 Solstice SCCA-spec convertibles-299 Solstice Coupes (160 of them are GXP models)-350 Vibes-530 G6 GXPs350 seems like a lot, but not when you consider this is for the entire country.
