Ok,As all owners of the 03 - 08 Vibes know the 3rd button below the A/C and the defroster is a dummy. A check at the dealer confirms that there isn't an optional button that utilizes the 3rd spot.That being said, this is a Toyota Corolla wagon in Europe and other regions, the Verso I believe. Over there, across the big ponds, is this button used for anything? IF it is, can we access getting that switch assembly delivered to us here in the USA??Dave

I use mine as a passenger mute button and a passenger eject button. doesn't work very well though...

In middle era matrix's (05-08 I believe) they changed the switch module and radio bezel, moving rear window defrost into the three button switch module, making room for a consolidated clock/passenger air bag status display. I bought one.




There are several issues however:- The radio bezel changed, and the mounting for the switch module changed, so the new switch module does not fit in the Vibe radio bezel- With the bezel change, the radio opening is wider, and not quite as tall as in the Vibe bezel, so there's a bit of gap on the side that would have to be filled.- The HVAC controls are one of the things that are different between Vibe and Matrix. The AC and recirc functions in the Vibe do not work correctly connected to the 05 Matrix switch. There might be a way to design a circuit to interface them, but it just wasn't worth it to me to put that much time into it, given the previous two issues.

I always wondered this and never knew.
