18" to 17" tires

I purchased a 2010 Pontiac Vibe GT. The tires 215/45/18 came with the car. However, these tires are a little bouncy for my taste. I want to go down to 17" tires which come with the base 2.4L Vibe. Do the 17" tires fit my car ok? The 17" wheels are no bad looking either. Hope 17" give me a little cushion than the 18" low profile tires.thx

at one point i was thinking about doing this too. sometimes i feel the car is too stiff but sometimes it feels fine. i wanted to swap to the 17" wheels and get bigger tires so it's same diameter as the 18's. haven't tried this yet but i think it should be ok. i did this on my accord.

I am located in the area and we could just do an even swap rims and tires...

I figured I would offer up the 17" Alum wheels and tires that came with my Vibe for an even trade for yours... They have 3,000 miles on them only...
