Old school 1zz intake on 04 1zz? ++shiny

I've developed a bit of a talent/fetish for polishing metal lately. I've got about 16 hours into making the stock cam cover shiny (you never realize how pitted it is till you have to smooth it all out with a piece of scotch-brite). I know the older 1zz (a la pre-2003 corolla) had an aluminum intake, and I was wondering if that piece is interchangeable with our plastic intake, whether my TB would bolt up and how they compare in flow characteristics. The more shiny stuff the better, but it's really not worth losing any power. if that's the case I might try finding a 2zz intake and copying the what-zz that Turbo&Auto on matrixowners did (I know a couple of good machinists). I've got an AEM SRI on the way from never enough and a TRD billet oil cap from my local yota dealer, so between all that I should have a pretty sweet view when I open my hood. Any info would be greatly appreciated, TIA.

The '02 Corolla aluminum intake manifold uses a 50 mm throttle body bore diameter. 03+ 1zz-fe's have a 55 mm throttle body.The old 1zz-fe throttle bodies use a 3-bolt mounting pattern, compared to the 03+ 4-bolt pattern.The old-style intake manifold might look nice, all polished-up, but performance would suffer, since the modern plastic manifold improved intake volumetric efficiency due to reduced intake air temperatures...kind of the same reason we install cold air intakes.
