Will '03-'06 OEM 16" wheel covers fit '09 16" steelies?

I really don't care for the design of the '09 16" wheel covers so I am wondering if the '03-'06 16" wheel covers will work with the 5 x 114 bolt pattern of the '09 Vibe 16" steel wheels? Here are the ones I am referring to:I am assuming the bolt pattern would not affect the wheel covers, but I want to make double sure before I buy anything. Also, what years had this style 16" wheel cover? eBay says '03-'06, but I want to make double sure so I can check junkyards, etc. Thanks in advance.

Thinking bolt pattern WILL be affected... Those wheel covers screw onto the thread lugnuts. Not going to fit your 2.4L model.

That's okay. I have to decided to forget about getting wheel covers and just stick with the plain steelies. Yes, it will look ghetto, but the price of even used wheel covers is just plain ridiculous. I refuse to pay upwards of $200.00 for freaking plastic that will probably end up cracking and falling off anyway.Regardless, thanks for the help.

I can hook you up with a set of 4 16" Matrix Wheel Covers. They are brand new and never even taken out of the box. FYI, I have an identical set of them on my 2003 Vibe. Mine have never fallen off, and look very nice. I will sell for $60, plus shipping, which is about $10.

They WILL NOT FIT as it is the wrong bolt pattern... 2003-2008 Vibe has a different bolt pattern than a 2009+ Vibe with a 2.4L engine...

I'm not positive, but I thought there were two different wheel patterns for the '09 Vibes. I thought one was the same as the '03 and the other was different - depended on the engine.

For the 2009 - 2010 Vibes do only the 2.4L Vibes have the 16" steel wheels? If so, the older style wheel covers will fit because I actually talked to a girl at Target today who had a Mystic Blue Metallic Vibe and she had the exact wheel covers shown in my original post above. I forgot to ask her if it was a 2.4L or not, but the older style wheel covers looked very nice on it and they fit perfectly .I will more than likely still forego the wheel covers, but at least the information will be clear for future reference.

Link to Houston's Vibe and steel wheels with hubcaps
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=37731 All Vibe hubcaps screw onto the lug nuts. Since there are 2 different bolt patterns, there are 2 different style hubcaps.

How do the Matrix caps hold to the steel wheels? Do they screw down on the wheel bolts or do they snap in? Just curious, your picture shows a silver set of bolts in the wheel caps, not the black plastic bolts on the regular 16 inch Vibe covers.

I really never did pay much attention, but a family members close female friend has a 2004 Toyota Matrix with hubcaps. She has lost a total of 4-6 since ownership. But since they have holes to accommodate the lug nuts, doubt they would line up to a 2009+ Vibe with a 2.4L engine.

I agree, ou.grizz. Even if they snap in, they won't fit over the 2.4l steel wheel bolts very well. A 114 bolt pattern is quite a bit different than our old 5x100 pattern. If RIT sees this thread, maybe he could tell us if he has had any problems keeping these on his Vibe steelies. And maybe even what lugs he's using on his steelies, too.

I can verify that I have never lost, nor had any wheel cover come off of my Vibe - honest. I still have the original ones that I bought with the wheels, and also an extra set of 4 brand new ones that I have not even opened up the package. Don't ask me why I have 4 extras - It was a deal that I couldn't pass up - thinking I might need them, but that day hasn't come yet. My mistake can be your gain.

They snap onto the wheel at the edges. The lug nuts that you see are chrome acorn-style lugnuts. My steel wheels are held on with those style to save the more expensive lugnuts from the winter salt and debris.

Hey RIT, I'm interested in your Matrix wheel covers. How do we do the exchange of $$s for the covers?

I am thinking we will probably just stick with the plain ugly steelies for winter. They may not look too good, but they get the job done of protecting the 18s from salt, sand, etc.
