In-Dash navigation

Post by 09vGT »

Im was wanting to get a portable nav system but then just thought about replacing the whole radio with a new in-dash navigation one.. Would one from GM work.. like one from an Escalade or Tahoe? Or would I have to get one in an aftermarket brand? I won't be doing it myself because I have NO idea how to do this stuff, so a radio shop will have to install it... will onstar still work? If you could suggest a good one that would help! I also want to keep my XM radio. Am I just better off to get a portable one? Thanks!

I would just get a portable one instead of in dash, esp if you can't install it yourself. The cost will be SO much less, and speaking from someone who has a 3 year old GPS, even when you think street don't change that much... they do, my GPS is outdated and missing some roads, i can buy an update for $75, or a new unit for $200. I am not sure how you would update an in-dash GPS. Get a TomTom, you will be just as happy.
