Hello all,We need new tires for our '03 Vibe. Does anyone have favorite tires? We have some Goodyears, but they are very noisy. I plan on getting the stock size for steel rims. We need some that are quieter. Thanks,

You are going to get a variety of answers. What it really comes down to is what is your budget?

Budget isn't as much of a problem as road noise.... Looking around the 400 - 500 dollar range.

nexen 5000 people seem to like for quiet. Most like the wet traction of them and they are ok for snow up to say 1-3inchesAlso I can personally say thatbfgoodridge traction t/a is a good handling tire in wet and dry, not bad on how quiet they are also

Any more ideas? Those BFG's are pretty pricey. We are looking for mileage but the tires have to be quieter than Goodyears that we have right now.

I just put 215 50R 17 Nexen 5000 on my girlfriends 05 Vibe. Acceptable road noise and i couldnt beat the price $84 per tire mounted and balanced.

The BRG tires are in your price range. They are about 90-100 bucks a tire. You could spend a few hours on tirerack reading all the different reviews on the tires that are in your size. Most do that

I tried a set of Kumho Ecsta Platinum LX. They definitely have a goofy name, but they are very quiet and ride extremely well. Got them from tirerack. I only have a little over 3,000 miles on them and show no wear. Not an inexpensive tire, but so far I think they are worth the smooth quiet ride they provide. They are considered an all season tire and handle the wet without problem, and good thing since we've just had one of the wettest summer and early fall periods on record.I would not recommend them for snow duty. I don't encourage anyone driving in snow to use anything but a dedicated snow tire. It's a safety thing for me. I've tried keeping an A/S tire on long enough to try on snow, and found that they will work somewhat, but snow tires blow them away.

I have Kuhmo Ecsta ASX all around & I like them. They are quieter & softer than the Nexens that I had before, but thats what I wanted. Tirerack has a tire rating scale for the tires they offer. Use that as a guide for what your needs are. Thats what I did. Bought the Kuhmos at Tirerack for 73.00 a peice. Spent 430.00 total with road hazzard, intallation & balancing.
