aFe SRI Installed

Just installed the aFe SRI this weekend, took about an hour. Noticable power increase, throatier exhaust note, better throttle response. I have noticed clicking coming from the cruise control module though. Maybe the computer is making adjustments. At first the clicking was only when the rpm's were around 2500, now it is when it's idling. Doesn't click all of the time though. Anyone ever heard of this. Almost sounds like a relay switch clicking continuously. No trouble lights. Very happy with the performance increase with the SRI.

Ticking is normal. It has always been there. You are just hearing it now due to the intake.

Really? Do you know why it ticks and why I would hear it more after the SRI is installed? Oh and I purchased the aFe as per your top 3 list. Thanks!!

Sure wish someone with a G-Tech Pro would step up and prove (or not) the claims.

It's a rapid ticking that seems to rev up with the engine. However, after driving for a little while (when it's warmed up) the sound goes away. Is the "ticking noise" similar to this, and is it obnoxiously loud for those in the cabin? Just curious...Thanks for your advice!

Yep that is the normal VSV ticking noise. You can mainly hear it from outside. You can hear it a little in the cabin. You won't hear any ticking when you are accelerating...

I figure that little collision I had last year must have shifted something enough to cause that. The only thing I'm wondering is that by moving having the filter in the engine bay will probably coat the filter with dust more frequently. Having the filter behind the bumper cover actually kept it relatively clean over the last couple of years. Of course it'll be easier to access in the engine bay for cleaning anyways.
