Supercharger: Are you for real this time?

Man I've been waiting on this for a minute. IT's true when ever I go to the dealership and ask about it they just stare and glare. Maybe finally I can pick one up next month as soon as it hits the dealerships.My favorite selling point besides the increased power of course:{While some may question the logic behind adding on a supercharger when you could just buy the higher-powered GT version for about the same amount of money, it’s a good time to remind them that when it comes to insurance, especially for those in the age bracket where it’s going to cost in the thousands, a four-cylinder base model always looks better on paper than the initials “GT.” }

yeah but I've been asking about it ever since I became a member here. Slowly but surely I notice certain dealers are aware but arent sure how they will handle or install them. I guess they just need some more training.

My dealer is the typical mom & pop dealer. They almost always sell their cars to the older crowds and their families. As such, they're not really experienced with performance addons such as S/C...Hell, the owner was telling me he had trouble selling cars because all the "young people" want CD players, moon roofs, and power everything, and eh ordered cars with nil features, and had to keep trading with other dealers to get cars he could sell.So if I decide to go for the S/C, I think I'm gonna have to go somewhere else to get it installed.

I am always amazed at how little salesmen seem to know about their products. They don't have THAT many different models, and heck, once they get up to speed, all they have to do is keep abreast of the changes from year to year. You can tell the sales folks who like cars from those who don't. For a lot of them, its just a job they are doing to fill in until they can find something else. Instead of sitting around like a vulture watching the lot for some new mark to walk in, they should be studying up on the brouchures, reading C&D, Consumer Reports, MotorTrend and other trade publications like many of their customers are doing. If they knew the product better, they could sell better and maybe with those commissions rolling in they would find they LIKE their jobs.

I have 2 questions about the "new" news on the home page. Does that S/C change the CAI that I was thinking about purchasing(and which many of you already have), and can anyone tell me the brand & model of the wheels on the Vibe shown with the Sports Trim Package??

The S/C is not gonna work with the existing intakes that are currently offered to the public. But I'm sure some company will offer one if there's enought ppl interested in it.

They look to be either 17" or 18". They also put the same wheels on the Vibe FX here:http://www.genvibe.com/html/features/au ... sema.shtml (scroll down the page)I put these same wheels on my Vibe (thread link) as well as Russiaville (thread link).Remember, these wheels are not part of the Sport Package.

Thanks Nick, those are some of the best looking rims I've seen. Got a little "rim envy" just looking at your pics! G.W.
