Quote » Two officers of Italian police, left and right, and their Swiss colleague pose near a Lamborghini Gallardo of Italian traffic police "Polizia stradale", which is told to be the world's fastest police car, at a highway rest area in Bellinzona, southern Switzerland, Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. The Lamborghini will be presented at an international police meeting in the Netherlands. (AP Photo/Keystone/Karl Mathis)Take THAT Chevrolet! This is a 2008 model. It's on display at a Dutch safety conference. The Italian police apparently had 2004's previously, so there are lots of photos around.

Sure it's fast, but what are they going to do when they catch up to whatever they're chasing? It's not like they're going to try a PIT maneuver with it.

I like the approach of the Mexican police. They drive VW Beetles built in Brazil but they all carry machine guns. Even a Lambo can't beat a bullet.

Lambo is probably the worst car to have against a bullet. Made from Carbon Fiber paneling, it is strong one way and weak another. A bullet would do some crazy damage. Not to mention all those sliver and splinters flying around from the shaterred resin and fibers, ouch!Although it is pretty intimidating that you are being chased by a Lambo, then again my Matrix could probably run them off the road with a few bumps. This is definitely more for show than anything else.Ever hear of a helicopter, less fuel usage, faster speeds, less danger to people on the road in chases.

Yeah, but road chases make such good tv!!! I'm sure that they use these for simple high speed highway policing (speeding) and publicity! Any thing else and they can just follow and call for backup.

here on what it is possible to pursue violators and what Lamborghini won't leave from a pursuit,
