Need a new headunit for the Escape

I havent bought a head unit for almost 10 years. I got a pioneer back then, I hear they are still good now. BUT I have 4 needs it has to satisfy.1. USB port for external usb flash drive or ipod/iphone2. Bluetooth for cell phone3. HD radio(?) figure I should as the old stuff is phasing out sometime.4. Be under $200. My cobalt SS has the usb and bluetooth and I freaking love it, now that the escape is my DD and winter car I need something more than the freaking radio. I have a 2005 escape XLS no mach audio, 1 cd HU. On crutchfield I see a Jensen, Sony, Boss and Dual. Ive never heard of Boss, Dual I think they made subs when I was in highschool. I have no want for an audio system, the stock stuff is fine. Perfect fit: Dual XHD7714 - HD radio, BT, USB, AUX, 1CD, $159Missing HDSony Xplod MEX-BT3700 -BT, USB, AUX, 1cd, $199 but missing HD stock ($149 add-on)Kenwood KDC-BT742U - BT, USB, AUX, 1cd, $219. No HD radio. The HD version is $250Jensen's BT1611I - BT, USB, SD port, 1cd, music recording to SD or usb, $109. NO HD radio upgrade.Missing HD and CDBoss Audio's 755DBi - BT, USB, AUX, SD, $149. Kinda cool but no cd and the ipod "tray" may break?Any thoughts?

Not sure about the BT quality connection on any of those HU's...If you can get away with not having HD Radio - then you know the answer.

BT quality and iPod navigation is what sealed the deal for me with Pioneer.

How about this Pioneer, the add on HD radio is only $99 if I ever get it.Pioneer's DEH-P6100BTBT, USB, AUX, 1CD and user reviews are good on its BT quality and ipod/iphone compatibility and charging. Its only $259 so that isnt TOOOO much more.

does your BT mic on your pioneer have a cord? or is it built into the HU? I guess its not a huge deal to run it to my visor...but just wondering. After reading more..that seems to be a muuuuchhh better HU. See I knew it back then, still holds true today, Pioneer has some good stuff at reasonable prices. I couldnt find a phase out date for analog fm radio so, idk why I should even get HD yet.

It has a cord.... Mic you an clip to the head linger just above the rear view mirror... That is where I have mine on the 08 Vibe. I do not even have HD as FM is still alive and kicking.... If you can live without HD, just wait will the unit goes on sale...

I have no need for HD radio. All I listen to is local stations and public radio. I would rather have my own music going as my XM expired. Ugh that usb port is so fantastic, usb flash drive with 1k+ songs and it works in both my cars...uhh heaven. 99% sure I'll get this HU. sweet!! thanks!

Aron haha if I have usb I dont care about music then..and I do want a gps but I want a removable one so I can put it in the SS. carpc would be sweet though, I almost had one in the vibe..The kenwood has a in unit mic and I hear it can suck. The kenwood has better tuning? like radio or you mean sound eq etc? I honestly wont do anything other than default. I have the base stereo and have zero need/want to have any nice speakers. The SS has all the nice stuff I found the pioneer at
http://www.jr.com for $189. Anyone heard of this site?

I had a JVC KD-HDR50 in the Vibe before I got rid of the car. Was a good radio, could change the colors of the buttons (the orange matched the Vibe perfect). It has built in HD and has a usb on the front. And you can buy an accessory to have the BT thru the radio. I liked it a lot... might be puttin it in the 350z now since I can't put it in the Infiniti.

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1...=5684the only problem with BT being added on is they range easily $100-$150. So it would be more than the pioneer.
