I really never did listen it due to it not really ever being on the radio... Well, over the summer I was exposed a little and really enjoy it... That being said, I really do not know much about it, artists, or songs. Anyone recommend some good beats?

well, the brand "techno" is rather vague. there is house, electro, trance, dance, ambience, etc. i'd say start with some DJ Tiesto. he's rather popular. good stuff too(has a song or two featured on the Pirates soundtracks)or to really dive in check this website http://www.jamendo.com all songs are released by the artists under the creative commons license. i've found quite a bit of "techno" that i like there, although most of it is european. this is good for me because i rather dislike most of the american stuff(it tends to be very repetitive and boring).i'm actually debating on seeing tiesto next month in concert, october 31st.

RogersPsydom RecordzOf my list i got most of them from that site, only the top 4 on that list are not on there. i really recommend buying their CDs instead of torrenting or downloading them.

Interesting note: Crystal Method does the theme music for Bones on Fox.Trance Addict was a place that I found some awesome songs and live sets. I haven't been on there in a while and not sure if they still update things, but def something to check out for those into trance.

Trance, Techno, Rave, Energy, Dance can all be classified under techno for the most part.I'm a classic techno kinda guy and started listening to it back in like 1999 when it was first becoming a big thing in the US at college with the Napster generation. I use that term because I was there when it was born and there when it died and when my computer crashed losing over 20k songs. I never got the heart to start my collection over again (just a couple hundred now). But I've always enjoyed techno and it always got me pumped and ready. Here are some good solid artists: (not in any order or type of techno)Alice DeeJayATBSupermodeCascadaPaul OakenfoldChemical BrothersDarude (not just Sandstorm)DJ TiestoEiffel 65 (not just the Blue or Barbie Girl songs either)BT LasgoYou also have DJ's who do mixes and compilitations. Lookup DJ Louie DeVito and his NYC Underground series, great discs. A lot of times on P2P's you will find remix's other DJ versions, extendeds, battle songs (mixed two songs together). So you need to preview to be sure your getting the right version you want.
