In a couple of weeks I will finally get around to installing my Delphi SkyFi XM reciever. Was wondering if anybody has removed their headliner and if you have any tips. I have the sevice manual, but sometimes there is an easier or better way

Why not just run the antenna wire through the hatch and then down and under the moulding...wouldn't that be easier?

You mean drill through the roof?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking...but I was thinking he could do that, then run the wire down inside and behind the plastic trim where the side rear-quarter access panels are for the tail lights (since I assume that's where the receiver will be), and then continue into the car, maybe just tucking it behind the trim on the side...

True...I've just been under the impression those headliners are a monster to install properly...once something happens, they never seem to go back to normal again...

My plan is to mount the XM antenna on the roof right behind the factory antenna. Then, I am going to put a small grove in the base of the factory antenna to accept the XM wire (and seal it back up with a bit of black RTV), and then run the XM wire right along side the factory antenna lead (which I am assumming runs up to one of the A pillars, then down to the radio). I am installing the Delphi XM reciever, so the antenna wire has to run to the front of the car. If this works the way I am thinking, it should result in a really clean antenna install.Guess it is time to start studying the service manual

Yeah, but someone said Sirius programming is not nearly as good as XM's...
