I am looking at getting a dead pedal cover for my Vibe GT, but I cant see a way to take the stock dead pedal off so I can install one. Has anyone taken the stock one off or know how to? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If there are no obvious screws to loosen, then the dead pedal may either snap in place or be held with glue. You might want to look into the wheel well and see if it's screwed in place through the floor.Let us know if you figure out how it actually is mounted.KSNeptune

Is the "dead pedal" the grooved thingy that you can rest your foot on on the left side of the car?

Yup someone's done it -- cross-repost from MatrixVibe.net:From Celica Girl:The clutch and brake pedals are surrounded by rubber you basically pull off the old ones and the new ones fit over the metal bracket however when you get to the last corner it is pretty hard to lift the rubber surround up to go over the metal. The left footrest ("dead pedal" - me) you just slip your finger underneath (pretty tight to get it under but it will go) and lift to pop the clips, I started with the bottom clip then did the top since I could get my finger underneath the bottom and not the top (there are 2 clips one on bottom and one up top) then you unscrew the white clip that remains on the threaded bolt attached to the car and put them back in the removed footrest to put the new rest on just align the hole in the clips (do not remove the white clips that come attatched to the new footrest) with the threaded bolts and push the new footrest on with alot of pressure untill you don't hear any more clicks. The Fuel pedal has to be unbolted, you will see a black plastic peice with a bolt on top and bottom, just remove those and unhook the cable from the top of the pedal linkage and put the new pedal on in reverse order. It is really not difficult at all just pay attention to which way the cable comes off the linkage, I did not pay attention as stated earlier in this thread and had to ask but it turned out I had put them in correct.Hope that helps folks.....Greg

Thanks for the post! That's what I thought it was, but I didn't want to proceed without knowing that for sure. Thanks again!
