Most likely your O2 sensor or possibly a vacuum leak. There's a TSB for the 2006 Toyota Matrix 1ZZFE, same as the Vibe. Here it is:Component Description:12. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Bulletin Number: 05105 Bulletin Date: Nov 2005 Vehicle: 2,006 Toyota Matrix Summary:MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP ON WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P0171 OR P2195. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10018290 )

Raven thanks for the reply I have not investigated the tsb yet but will. I clean the mafs and i changed the pcv valve. I also changed the spark plugs and they were toast. the cel came back on and i ran the codes the only code was the po134( a dead o2 sensor at bank 1 sensor 1) I am going to order a sng sensor and i think that will take care of the issue ill keep you posted

Are O2 sensors covered by the longer emissions warranties?

Those should be covered by the 80K mi. emission warranty.
