HONDA is keeping a lid on key details regarding the Accord crossover utility vehicle set to hit the market later this year, but the automaker this week released a first look at its latest model.The Torrance, Calif.-based automaker is calling its 2010 Accord Crosstour a “modern interpretation” of a crossover with the “refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan.” It’s an offshoot of the company’s flagship sedan, which underwent a redesign for its 2008 model.Spokesman Sage Marie said production hasn’t begun on the vehicle, which will go on sale at this fall. It remains unclear whether the Crosstour will be made in Central Ohio, where the bulk of Honda’s North American manufacturing operations are housed through Marysville-based Honda of America Manufacturing Inc. That detail should be disclosed in the coming weeks, Marie said.Honda also hasn’t released pricing details on the Crosstour, but said it will be at the top of the Accord family.The vehicle, Honda said, combines the ride of a sedan with the higher ride height and all-weather handling of a crossover vehicle. Much like the redesigned Accord, Honda designed the vehicle with an “aggressive” design through a roof line that narrows into the rear. This is the second Honda that I actually like the looks of.

That thing's ugly as hell... looks too much like several other vehicles molded together.

At first glance, it's kind of ugly, like a stretched Chrysler Crossfire. At 2nd, 3rd, and 4th glance it remains unappealing to me. In fairness, it might be gorgeous in person. Personally, I don't like the new grills on the Accords.

I don't like it at all. I was very excited when I thought they were bringing the Honda Stream or the European Accord Wagon here - but then we get this. The thing looks like a suppository to me.

I'll go take a crosstour over to the crapper and throw up now.

Supposed to compete against the Toyota Venza. Venza has more cargo room, better visibility and sharper looks. This looks like someone from Acura design walked into the Honda design room by accident and drew a new CR-V.

In a word: Hideous!When did Chris Bangle become the head of Honda design?Honda Accord design went over the edge of a cliff about 5 years ago. i think the front end is totally disconnected from the rest of the car. it looks like they spent alot of time designing from the rear forward, then ran out of money and just slapped on the front of the accord

I think it's awesome! Maybe I'll trade the Vibe in for one of these...

Honda seems to have a policy in place where the have three exterior design teams (front, sides, rear) and lock them in separate rooms, not allowing for collaboration. I don't get it. But *sigh* they're not alone, I see plenty of this with other companies too. I guess a random smattering of incompatible lines is the in thing these days...

I saw those comments from the company when I was searching for spy shots...that is pretty sad.I like the spy shots better than the glamour pics they put out...but hey....I also liked the Pontiac Aztek....and I would have bought one if it wasn't such a bad car mechanically.
