Thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2003 Vibe. Read thru a few of the "things to look for" threads, so just have one question:Any issues with the 2003 in particular? I always avoid first year model of anything. But this thing is fairly cheap, probably due to having 142k miles. But SEEMS in decent shape.TIA!

I bought my 03 a year and a half ago with 47k on the clock, and the only issues I've had were minor. I've put 33,000 miles on it since purchased and the worst (and only) thing that has happened is a seized brake caliper. Easily the best car I've ever owned. Is the one you're considering a GT? They've had issues with weak clutches, according to some folks, but again I'm at 80k and no issues. Welcome to the forum, btw

Thanks! I'm not real sure if it's a GT. The listing says "2003 Pontiac Vibe Preferred Package", whatever the heck that is. I still need to go look at this one in person yet. I've been shopping for either a Matrix or a Vibe for the last week, and this one popped up on AutoTrader friday, for only $3k. I'm really hoping it's in decent shape, as they claim. Would be well within the budget right now. Don't care if it's got a few parking lot dings, just don't want to have to start replacing expensive crap right off. Always a gamble with that kind of miles.

this onehttp://
www.autotrader.com/fyc/...thumb ?has a "rebuilt" title which means it was wrecked and repaired. If that doesn't bother you, it should be worth a look at that pricebase auto power package moon&tunes

Yeah, that's the one. The rebuilt title doesn't scare me too much. As long as "they" did decent job on it, it'll be fine. Depending on what was done to it, of course. I've bought those before, without any prob's. Not sure why everybody is scared of those. I may take a run down tomorrow and take a peek. It's a bit of a drive, but I don't have anything else going on. Bad thing is, in this state, car dealers are all closed on sundays. Good thing is, on sundays, you can go look at cars at dealers No pesky salesmen chasing you around
