Now that I have a better exhaust system on my 2.4l Vibe, I looking for a less restrictive but with a good filtering medium air filter. Ive seen drop in K&N ones but I dont like its filtering efficiency. And then you have your CAI that they dont have for the 2010 model or if they do they cost $$$.So that leaves me back to the drop in ones, has anyone use or seen a paper or whatever material that is better than the oem air filter, Puralator,WIX,Amsoil?BTW amsoil advertises a new type of AF with nano whatever tech but for the vibe it will send you to their WIX filters, any comments??

Take a look at the aFe Pro Dry-S drop in filter. It is a dry media filter, so no oiling and easy to clean. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors....m245h ... r...ilter/

Unfortunately aFe does not have one for a 09-10 let alone for a 2.4l engine That is the kinda filter Im looking for.

They do sell the filter for a 09 corolla with the 1.8l engine,I wonder if the filter from that would fit a 09 2.4l vibe???

Scion Xb (08+), Toyota Camry (07+)/ Avalon (05+)/ or Lexus ES350 (07+) application should work in the 2.4

Well I went ahead and replaced the stock AF with one from WIX.It has a foam like material and fits really well in the air box, still would like to get a aFE one day. Now for some "around the town " testing on mpg etc.

Pretty simple really used a quality flexable black 3" hose ran it from the driver side lower grille and it snaked right up under the battery and ends right under the fuse box and points to the open end of the element works real nicely very simple and clean hardley noticable.Anytime you can get that much fresh air into the engine always a good thing ecspecially unubstructed cool air. matched with a good exaust Alot of people run the long tube Intakes and there a nice enough set up, but to make a true ram is pretty simple and works very effeciant.

That is one SWEEEEET setup!!!,yes any pics esp the 3" hose installation. Unfortunately that KN cai is a little too rich for me, so for now a better oem air filter.BTW can anyone tell me if the 09 Toyota MATRIX 2.4l air filter is the same as the 09 Vibe 2.4l??
