fuel line problem?

I have a 2003 Vibe, 86000 miles. Never had a problem except brake pads until now. Sometimes when I put it in drive and press on the gas it will roll back, rev high, jerk, then go. It also does this now and then if I come to a stop and start to go again. Last week I had to break somewhat sharply at a stoplight....it jerked and stalled. All my power was still on and it started right back up no problem. Never had any of the gauge lights come on. A friend recommended I add this B-12 stuff to my gas tank. I added a can and it seems to be slightly better, but I am still having the problem now and then. Any ideas??? I am a single mother who knows nothing about cars....and I am on a strict budget. HELP!!

First thing I'd do is check the transmission fluid level.

If the tranny fluid is low, when you step on the accelerator it won't be able to properly transfer the power from the engine to the wheels and will make the rpms go high.

I checked my manual and it doesn't tell me anywhere how to check my transmission fluid. Sorry for the ignorance when it comes to cars...

Sorry for the ignorance when it comes to cars...in this photo you can see the two dipsticks. on the left hand side (yellow) is the oil dipstick. On the lower right (orange) is the transmission dipstick. this onepull it out when the transmission is warm and check the level
