I have an 03 and I don't have the strut your talking about. I have an Injen CAI and a power tower and If I remember I didn't have to cut the engine side of the CAI, but I did cut the other end to make filter r & r easier.

The Helix will work better as a paper weight on your desk and is less hassle to install there. That's about all they are good for.

I dont want to take any chances damaging the manifold. however, I can see on some pics on this site that some Vibes don't even have this strut? I even called the company that sells the Helix and the guy on the phone said he has never seen that strut on a 1ZZFE? he even asked me to take pictures and email them to him (I havent done this yet I want to get input from the community first)second, I want to ask any members who are using or have used in the past both the Helix Power Tower AND a Cosmo CAI together: did it all fit in there with minimal hassle/headache? im worried about the CAI not having enough room with the Helix in place, and you cant trim the pipe on the intake. my 'engineer' and I are going to take another look at the situation next week and we would love any advice/input from the GenVibe community in the meantime. thanks! I removed the strut your talking about. I haven't had any issues now for over 3 years. You will need to trim the CAI in order for it to fit. I trimmed mine on both ends on the TB end for the helix to fit and again on the other end so I could fit my dry flow filter on with out the pipe going down in to the filter more than 1-2 inchs.

They develop even better horsepower and mileage with a $1.99 Ebay power chip. Alas also unproven with hard evidence.

Lol, the sucker bait worked again.... Helix power, swirls air as it passes over it, increasing fuel atomization blah blah blah... What happens when air/fuel passes over the intake valves??? I'm sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but Raven wasn't kidding...

More than a handful of members have reported an increase in MPG after installed said product. Weird.

but your results will be skewed due to the CAI. Intakes will increase your mpg, some cars more than others, I'm sure someone here can tell you the average increase in the Vibe's bc I sure don't know. It's going to be hard for you to get concrete numbers on the Helix alone unless you remove the CAI and place the stock intake back on.

Do these vibe owners who call the power tower balderdash ever mount one on their vibe? probably not.do these vibe owners have degrees that they can show documentation that the power tower doesn't work? probably not. and if they do can they show it?

Never got any advantage on my AWD 05 XR Trix after install. Sold it off. I do however have the extension tube that came with the supercharger kit from Blue Crush. That helps keep cooler air coming into the engine with less bends in the piping for smoother flow. Noticeable difference on that.
