I purchased a leather shifter knob and installed it in on the Vibe about 2 weeks ago while the vehicle was home for a day from the dealer before going back again.

Off topic but I would like to shorten the shifter. Plastic or leather doesn't matter, I still keep crashing my coffee cup into it when returning it to the cup holder in the console! Then my wife knocks it into third gear with her purse! I just plain don't like the location. Remember when Chrysler had the pushbutton shifter on the dash back in the sixties? Seems like the way to go for me, we don't need a big lever sticking up for an automatic transmission. One of these days I will pull the cover and see if it is possible to do something with it.

I'm sure it is - just have to figure out what Toyota parts bin it came out of. It probably is the same as a Corolla or an Xb. Good luck!
