I have the Metra install kit for the unit.My dad won a $2000 drawing at a recent auto show here in portland.Gift Certificate at BTL Auto Sports. I made a deal with my Dad that I will pay half of the unit/install cost. This unit purchased and installed for $750.Anyone familiar with this Pioneer?:

avic411.com... watch out for the Pioneer "Pico fuse" problem, easily googled... It's a sweet unit, but I won't install a double DIN, you can't hide it..

i agree with Sublimewind its kinda dangerous because its not a flip out and you cant really hide it as good. i have a normal tiny pioneer headunit and i love the quality of it

Yeah, a little nervous on the 'theft' issue. But one cannot live life in fear on what they want.I have a Viper alarm system that I took out of my Old Highlander, I will install it when I get the deckSublime, I will check into that 'pico' issue, I had an AVIC D1 double din unit. I never experienced those problems. Thanks for the heads up.I can still get a similar Kenwood. How is that brand?

Sublimewind,Just researched the pica fuse issue on google.Seems that the RCA connection plugged in and unplugged while "HOT" is the issue. Why would anyone mess with a HU while still plugged in?I realize that other brands this may not be a problem, but sheesh!Messing with the connectors while the unit is ON?? Thats madness. Will do more research. Still wanna know if Kenwood is a good unit, most people that know prefer the Pioneer units.
