No longer "Lurking"!

Finally got my '09 Red Hot Metalic Vibe and I LOVE it! I needed to go with just the base/1.8. Needed that for the budget and the mpg. Been looking for a few months and trying to figure out how I could afford one... then Cash for Clunkers came along. I know I couldn't get more than $2500 for my '99 GMC 3/4 ton 6.0L 4WD, so this was the perfect opportunity. Also traded in my '99 Amigo, got my dealer cash back and ended up with $8k off the sticker before I even put a nickle down! To find the color & options I wanted, I had to go 600 miles north to Lawrenceville, Ga (thank you Colonial Pontiac!!!) Dealerships couldn't hold on to these cars!. From there, I headed up to West Virginia (visiting with the inlaws). On the return trip, we cruised down the Blue Ridge Pkwy (cool!). By the time I had brought my new Vibe home for the first time, we had logged over 2,100 miles. Anyway... I really enjoy the Genvibe site! Thanks everyone! I'll be posting here and there, from time to time.

welcome and congrats. must be fun to have a nice road trip...i plan on taking my vibe on a 1000 mile round trip next month. should be fun =D

The CARS program is really working. Congratulations... Vibes are getting pretty thin out there. You were able to buy a great car. The manual is fun to drive and will get you excellent gas mileage.

Good choice on the red. If red had been available when I got mine (I had choice of black or white), I would have gotten the red. That was last week. Now, I find out that my dealer must have bought out the inventory of Dallas' Ewing Pontiac and they have an entire lot of new Pontiacs sitting there, including Vibes in almost every color. Oh well, I though the Clunker money was ending and I had to move fast. Turns out that wasn't true either. But I love my car anyway.
