Removing door panels, help?

Hello, I'm working on another how-to, as i'm installing some mb quart components for my fronts in my Matrix XR. However, when I'm taking of my driverside door panel, i can't seem to get the wiring clip off. Did anyone else find problems with this? I found a small latch to push on the bottom, but can't seem to get it to move. (i found it odd as the top of the clip moves a little). Anyway, just wondering if i'm just supposed to pull harder (not usually a wise choice) or if i'm missing something? Thanks

I found the wiring clips were the most tough to remove on the driver's side, as in your case. I tried a few different "wiggles" and some force, but finally it came off abruptly. Be sure you have the little latch fully 'un-engaged'.

Yeah, in the end I couldn't get it to come out. So i just removed the 3 screws, and took that panel from the door panel itself. After looking closely at the clip, it seems that on mine the tab doesn't fully release the clasp (perhaps poor install), but this solution works. Thanks

Did the same thing myself today! Worked fine for me too. What colors were the speaker wires for your Front right and left speakers? I have the wiring diagram for the Vibe but it did not match the left front speaker. The diagram said the colors should have been purple and something else. But they were White and Red. The right was correct.

quote: What colors were the speaker wires for your Front right and left speakers? That's one thing I didn't make a note of. I remember the colors changed somewhere along the line between the head unit and the doors. I took my multitester and "pinned-out" the leads to get the correct +/-, but I didn't write the colors down. (sorry) The rears are different also.
