Hey! My VSC works!

I'm not sure if the Vibe just has greasy tires or it just doesn't like high cornering forces, but I wanted to beat a semi to the sharp curve on the railroad bridge and when I had to break and turn hard into the turn the car got a bit squirrely and the VSC started beeping at me.Hope lowering springs and better rubber down the line will fix that issue. I'd hate to have the VSC kicking in all the time and being a pest.

Aww, c'mon... some of the best crash videos involve idiots trying to cut off semi's and slamming on the brakes or trying to beat the train!!!Up here, a lot of truckers carry their camera with them and get a snapshot of the persons licence plate, then after a qiuck call to the cops and a little exaggeration, the police generally give the offending vehicle owner a little phone call...If the VSC bother's you that much then just turn it off.

""Not sure about anyone else, but I never mess around with a 18 wheeler...."""I mess with em every night & get paid 4 it but back on topic ,I go by a asphalt plant on the the way in2 work, thay use kero or diesel in the beds of the trucks 2 keep the asphalt fron sticken, so my traction control came in handy a few times,it's almost like black ice.

the only time i heard the VSC beep was when i was going uphill on a rainy day. i floored it on purpose to see what happens. actually not sure if that was traction control or vsc kicking in lol

To clarify, in case it makes a difference, this was a four lane road and I was passing by the semi in the right lane. The turn ahead was to the left and I wanted to get ahead of the guy because he'd end up crowding my lane while going slowly thru the turn.I'd never turn off the VSC - much more likely to save my (removed) then bother me during spirited driving.I don't think traction control makes a peep (or a beep) when activated. Don't all 2009 Vibes come with it? Mine breaks traction easily when trying to get going from a stop on a hill and it has never made a noise.

If the VSC starts beeping it just means you're driving your car like you're suppose to...I'd be curious to see what would happen with the same conditions with better rubber and lowering springs... My guess is the VSC wouldn't have kicked in... And I understood what you meant by your first post.. I'd probably have done the same thing because I'd rather be in front than next to and get pinched... plus the driver of the truck was probably happy that you weren't right next to them anyway...

Hey just this summer I went to my first rally race. Unfortunately, the view point was poor. Still, kind of fun if a lot dusty. Travis Pastrana really put on a show of powdering the crowd on the turn.
