I hauled a new dishwasher in the box in my Vibe with room to spare. I'm assuming the Matrix would be the same. You should have no problems getting it to fit, Howard.

Let me tell you how it is in Ohio. Your state may be different.Replacement installation usually runs about $75.00 - $90 tops.If you buy it with installation - there is no sales tax because it becomes part of the home - legally called a "fixture".Factoring in t he sales tax savings it is generally not worth your time and trouble to install. And usually the installer brings the unit to your home - you don't have to pick it up.I also bought $4,000 in appliances as part of a kitchen remodel - refrigerator and oven. I paid no sales tax. Not sure why as these are not "fixtures".

Tape measurers do wonders. I fit a love seat in my Trix with the hatch closed once. Also fit a kitchen table and four chairs.

Sounds like I will have no problem.I would not know the measurements till I get to the store. I am confident it will fit unboxed, but prefer to get it in box to avoid scratches.

Jake:I am not sure about my state. MN.The last time i bought a double door stainless fridge from Sears,It was delivered by them with a huge gouge in the door most likely from their fork lift or cart.I was happy with the price of the dishwasher, but couldn't talk them out of the $65. delivery even though I could get it back by rebate.I hate rebates and have been ripped of many times by the handlingcompany. I am confident I can pick it up in my Matrix and not have to wait all day for a truck to show up or not, with damaged goods. Thanks for your comments

I wasn't able to fit the box for a 42" plasma TV in the back of the car yesterday... You can't transport them laying down either, so, one of the passengers (one getting the TV) road in the very back, while the TV road across the back seat.. no problem.. lol...

I hauled a dishwasher in my Vibe shortly after I got it... there was enough room in the car that I could've fit in a second one.As for installing the dishwasher, if there's already one installed you could install the new one with ease. As long as you know how to use a screw driver & can shut off the water & electrical
