I found an used bumper for my vibe, but it has some wear on it...Can this be repaired with rubbing compound?

Try it and see, but I don't hold too much hope for the long-deep scratch there.

yah i'll use touchup on the bigger scratch. I might be able to rub some of it out, but if their deep the compound won't do anything. my bumper is in really bad shape -- numerous scrapes/scuffs/chips --- so even this bumper looks *new*

If you have deep scratches and are going to repain the bumper cover you can use a product called duramix 4030 or 4031 they are both flexiable plastic repair adhesives and can be sanded; the downside is that they are around $40 for the adhesive and a lil more for a cheap gun. If you have light gouges you could use a product called duramix 4058. Any should be available from your local auto body supplier.AronJust reread the thread, I guess you didn't want to repaint the bumper!
