Hey, what's up everyone. Just picked up an 09 GT with the manual. Its for my sister actually but I'm the resident caretaker of vehicles for the family lol. We were able to cash in early with the cash for clunkers deal. Traded in a 97 Expedition with 171k miles and qualified for the full $4500 with the Vibe. We were also able to get employee pricing and rebates. When all is said and done we got it out the door for $11k.This pic sucks. I'll have to get some better ones when it stops raining.

Let's see:MSRP ....................................$22,000Supplier pricing ....................$20,500Rebates ..................................-2,500C-F-Clunkers ..........................-4,500Picture of Sales Manager with a goat -4,000Sales tax etc. ....................... +1,500 Net ...........................................$11,000Is that how you did it?Does Florida calculate sales tax before rebate?Does Florida treat thr 4,500 cash for clunkers like a trade-in so no sales tax on that?

This is it here:
http://www.pontiac.com/wssearc....9249o ... .85004MSRP ....................................$19,895Employee pricing ....................$18,500Employee Rebates ..................................-4,000C-F-Clunkers ..........................-4,500No goat. I did get some other used trade-in discount... -$150 Sales tax etc. ....................... +$1,300Net ...........................................$11,150I have no idea why the MSRP is that low. Oh well, better for me. I'm really thankful for my friend that works for GM and was able to get me the employee pricing and the rebates that go with it. Florida calculates tax before rebates... Doesn't matter though. I get to deduct it from my taxes next year.

That is the first time I have seen a window sticker where the options are subtracted rather than added! Isn't that $4,500 free money wonderful? Of course our grandchildren will have to pay it back.

Wow, if you could have gotten the picture of the sales manager with the goat, I think they would have ended up giving you money and not the other way around as you drove off in your GT. Excellent buy. Don't know if the grandchildren will really mind the $4,500 CFC in the long run. BT and his new GT will get better mileage compared to the old Expedition, so less money going out of country ( and BT's wallet ) for fuel. Much cleaner engine, so grandchildren get better air to breathe and less chance of respiratory ailments. With the cost of heath care, grandchildren might come out way ahead on this deal!

A lot of people are only in the 15% bracket so it is worth even less.

I really don't care about the environmental aspects of Cash for Klunkers, but as long as I have less SUV's to try to see through when I'm driving I'm a happy guy.

Some more good news. Apparently the dealer wasn't supposed to tax the price before counting the $4500. So they called us up to re-do the paperwork and refunded us - sweet. Also got some wax on and took some pics:

Ooh, shiny!Do you not need the front plate? Sweet.I offered $18,500 on one just like yours but they were not willing to deal. So, I went and got a non-GT M5 2.4L in silver.

Nope, no front plate required in Florida.
