Man, that's impressive. She's feisty, too, and I like her stance on driving tests for old folks

That's what good maintenance gets you. And why spend money on a new car when what you have works great! Gas is still cheap.

she could save a crap load of money over the years of she had a newer better gas mileage car. And I wonder how much it is to fix if its in a accident because the parts maybe more rare to find? idk.She seems semi paranoid about it...I mean honestly who the heck would take that car? its not even worth anything hahah. I think she is slightly crazy.

Fun story and every now and then things like this come up! That said, the article did not say anything about repairs on it. And she kept all her receipts, so you know she know what was replaced in the past! Who cares about gas receipts, that is just being (removed) retentive. I want to know about any trans or engine work!

What is more amazing is that car was crap. I had a 64 Comet, and everything broke, engine, brakes, clutch, exhaust, driveshaft bearings, gas tank, leaf springs in the back, a arms in the front, you name it. Ready for the junk heap by 1971.

Sounds like the typical car from that era... Maintenance was a little more then oil and gas back then.... Anyone remember filing points flat and trying to set the gat without a feeler gauge???
