So my friend lost his key today... and that's his only key!That really got me worry... Will I be able to re-key a spare if I happen to lose one of the two keys I have??I have a Ford Focus before I had the 09 vibe and in order to re-key the key for the focus, it requires two keys on hand as two keys are require to code the new key! Is that the case for the 2009 vibe??

Does your 09 have an immobilizer chip? if so then you can only get spare keys cut from the dealer and programmed to the car. They should not need any other keys. It just means you'll need to get your car towed to the nearest dealer to have a key made.To avoid this... never end up with only one key.
