My wife doespick up the car today.... it's the perfect car for her... top notch safety 5star all the way around... 4star for roll over.30mpg on the hyw.Nothing fancy... no sun roof or fog lamps. but it did come with the upgraded stereo/sub... which isn't too bad for stock. The car is a little buzzy on the hyw but nothing some sound deadner wouldn't fix.Good get up and go for a little four banger.

I'm jealous for I have no soul but would really like to have soul some day. Those are very cool little boxes. Is that the + or ! trim level? How's it compare to the Vibe in terms of things like ride and noise?

Little squishy in the turns compaired to mine*when it was stock* Mine hands down handles 100times better in it's current form.Highway noise is about the same maybe a little less then the vibe. It will be quite once i sound deaden it though.Red line is 6500. I haven't taken it that high yet (only has 30miles on the od)But getting it up in the 4-5k range it's picked up quickly enough that someone would have no issues getting on a highway with a short entrance ramp. It's got more get up and go than my AWD vibe.So far the only mod done was to take off the dealer stickers... grrrI plan on tinting her front windows.I plan on retrofitting a set of HID projectors as well. The mod list will be short so it stay relyable for her.She already had one person stop her at the local CVS to ask her about it. lolIt has a lot more features than my vibe when it was stock.bluetooth syn.syrius sat radio*free for three months*aux jack and usb jack for ipods.power windows, lockspower mirrorscruiseside curtain air bagsfront and seat air bags

Nice. They're really well equipped for the dough. Even the stripper base with the 1.6 has a decent amount of equipment.Does yours have the lighted speakers? That's just cool. If it does, get pics. LOL!Hope she enjoys the new ride!

They love being able to lay down*seats were down* and still be with in 1foot of us. I had to keep reminding my wife not to slam on the brakes so we wouldn't have a 35lb and 45lb dog kill us when they came flying forward.

The lady across the street from us has a black one. It was the first time I'd ever seen or heard of it.

Nice! Congrats! We plan on getting a brown one, Java color, when my Jeep lease is over in Oct. I will take over the vibe since my round trip commute to work is only 16 miles. You can't beat the price, MPG, air bags/safety with them. Oh yeah the great warranty too! I searched ebay real quick one day and I like the fender vent assemblies with side marker/blinker LEDs for them. The price was kiind of high for them (over seas shipping) but should come down eventually.

I'm going to have to post a cut off line from the current halogen headlights. I got to say it's the best cut off line I have EVER seen on a car, that don't have projectors

I saw a few of these in person at a Kia dealer and I must say that if I were replacing my Vibe now this is what I'd get. They have all the practicality of the Vibe with sharper styling. I prefer Toyota for durabilty and reliabilty but Kia and Hyundai have come so far that may be an outdated preference! Good luck.

Well time for updates...She now has 6000k hid projector headlightsShe also now has hella horns:Today I installed projector fog lights with 3000k Hids I was going to try and figure out how to wired in a stock steering stalk with a fog light switch I would still be searching for the pins that go in to the factory harness plug.so i just added a cheap switch.

Nice. Looks really clean install all around. So you had to take the whole front end off to get horns on there? I take it the middle horn is for your alarm - next mod should be to put a train horn there. BTW, the Soul just scored good in front and side on the IIHS crash tests and got "top safety pick" - looks like a really safe little car.She liking it pretty well thus far? I continue to drool at them, I'm particularly fond of those with the Denim package that have the blue metallic paint and white mirrors/wheels/ "racing" stripe. But maybe later.

The bumper had to come off for the projector install, I did the horn install at the same time. The other horn is the stocker. It's disconnected at this time.Yea I was reading about the saftey aspects of it when we bought it. That was one of the main reasons why we bought it. I too like the denim package... well the color anyways. I'm not digging the white wheels and the rice stripe.

I love the body design but that KIA running gear quality will always keep me out of one!

The Soul's 2.0 is Hyundai's Beta engine, same as in the Hyundai Elantra and Kia Spectra. That one has been around since the mid 90's, reworked a couple times since then. They ought to have the bugs worked out by now. The base 1.6L engine is Hyundai's Gamma unit, fairly new and I don't know much about it.Back before Hyundai bought Kia, they mainly used Mazda powertrain components. At any rate, as long as you don't beat the crap out of the car on a daily basis and keep up with the maintenance these powertrains will last a long time.

Check this out. I went to pick up my wife for lunch and noticed a Cube flanked on each side by Souls in the parking lot at SIUC. My son needs to park his xB next to these for the box trilogy. Also, I saw where MotorWeek is doing a comparo road test of the three on their next show:MotorWeek #2904Episode Title: 2904/Porsche PanameraPBS broadcast window begins September 25, 2009Quick Listing:Road Test: 2010 Porsche PanameraRoad Test: Three Cubic Solutions: Nissan Cube vs. Kia Soul vs. Scion xBGoss' Garage: Cleaning up a MessCar Keys First Impressions: 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP CoupeI took this low quality pic with my phone. Looks like the Soul has a wider stance... Still would take a Soul or xB over the Cube.

I'd take a Scion xB TRD' out over the Soul and Cube. Not to mention you can easily add a S/C to it factory.

The car has been good so far. No issues.I just picked up weathertech all season molded mats for her car. LOVE THOSE!!Only thing I don't like about the betaII engine is it's in interference engine and it's run with a timing belt.

Yeah, the timing belt thing sucks. I'm looking at a replacement here within the next 4000 miles, $399. It's a royal PITA on the Alpha II I've got, I hear it's worse on the Beta II - not easily done yourself. I downloaded the the Soul's onwner's manual off of kiatechinfo (you should sign up if you haven't already, free shop manual!) and it seems the base engine must have a chain since there's no interval listed for timing belt. Whatever replaces the Beta will probably have a chain.

Thanks for the heads up though.I have already studied the belt changing info that the techs would use. It would be a full weekend project for me. But by the time my wife hits 60k it will be 10 years old and almost time for a new car anyways LOL
