i was wondering if this stereo would fit into my 05 base vibe and how i would go about doing it..

and i have also purchased a kicker 10" sub with an amp. i was wondering if there was a way to hoop the sub up to the factory hu.

The radio will fit the vibe you would only have to buy the antenna adapter, dash kit, and harness. There are quite a few good tutorials on installing the radio search for Bluecrushe' install on Sublimewind' tutorial on radio install both would be very helpful.You can hook up the sub and amp with a factory radio, you would just run all power and ground like normal and you would have to buy a line level converter (like the one Bluecrush used in his headunit install) to convert you signal wires to RCA.Any main reason you are looking at the radio mentioned in the first post?Aron

i was on overstock.com and was told by a friend of mine that i would get better sound quality with an aftermarket unit. so i looked into some things. i want on the can fit the stock size so i dont have the gap. and it was a good deal and had good reviews. but i prefer my stock one til i absolutely need one

Also look at Keithvibe's install thread. It was very helpful for my install as well as Sublimewind's install thread.

also i was looking on amazon for a converter( i like to use the websites i know) and im a bit cheap haha but i found another converter with good reviews on the website. Soundgate LOCX 2-Channel 85-Watt High Performance 100Hz Low Pass or Full Range Line Output Converterever heard of it?

so i just called 3 car audio places to see if someone would install my things and its more than it cost me for my amp and sub.... i was going to get my friend to do it but is there a tutorial on how to do this with a factory head unit? from what i have searched there isnt...

not sure about a tutorial, but I believe it's been talked about in several hit and miss places, but a matter of finding the particular thread that's got it in it.

well i have tried everything from factory head unit to amp and subwoofer installation. if anyone has installed an amp and sub to their factory unit please help me out....

They honestly don't like the fact that you went out and got a good/great deal on your gear (undercutting them in most cases) and then bringing in said gear to have it installed... So, they install it, you flog it for a week, blow something and come back mad at them, they won't want to guarantee the install, and may even make you sign something to that effect..Ok, i'm sorry, with that out of the way, we can easily guide you through the install if you want to get your hands dirty...!!What Kicker goods did you get?? Have you gotten an wiring for the amp? Kicker makes AMAZING wiring kits.. I'm using 3 different ones in my car...!! Oh and thanks for the props on the install tutorial.. I think we have the 3 basic installs covered now correct? Basic, no premimum audio... One with the LOC and the premimum system and an 09' basic.. We should have a 09' with On-star here soon too, I hope... I'm workin on that one..

thanks! i appreciate it and the places around here actually said that they would guarantee it as long as i have it. and would even uninstall for free. and i have not gotten any wiring yet. i am getting my amp on monday. its 650watts by lanzar. it has a 2 year replacement warranty. this is my sub...

That's not a bad deal, but you MUST understand, they are guaranteeing the install and not the components.. If they use solid install practice, set the amp up properly and you don't get happy with the bass boost and volume knobs, you should really NEVER have a problem... Now, understand that when buying budget friendly gear, there are more failures.. not saying that the good stuff doesn't fail, but it's inherent with the price.. lower quality control.. Well, good deal man, that sub you got is for a truck, but it will do just fine in the car and take up less room.. I used to run something similar, back in the day, in my VW.. It was a ported box (a pre-fabricated one that the company I worked for built) and a single 10" no-name sub (well it was Emenance, but there wasn't a single label on it) It SLAMED.. I mean it surprised me all the time.. It sounded better than the 2-12" subs that came before it.. It sounded GOOD doing it too... I think you will be happy.. The Lanzar, at one point in time, they were some of THE amps to have, the old "OptiDrive" amps... oh yeah... I can't say much about them today, but if you wouldn't mind taking a moment and looking at Cadence Audio... off in the "Outlet" section, they have some really nice amps (proven, after reading many reviews on the car audio forums) and I see a lot of people using them online.. Just something to consider, totally up to you, but you can buy factory direct from them and have 100% of the warrentee.. let us know what install route you want to take, we can help... Cheers.. Aaron
