I went to a audio place in Pittsburgh and can get a DVD palyer installed using my Nav screen for $400 with DVD player included. Or i can buy my own and it would cost $150 to install it. I think this will be getting put it real soon.

Check with your state laws. If the nav screen is aimed such that the driver can easily see it while driving, then you might need a feature that disables DVD play if the car is in motion. I believe the reason the nav system does not natively play DVD movies is just for this reason: Watching a movie while driving may be illegal in some states. IMO it SHOULD be illegal everywhere.I got stuck behind a drives distracted by talking on his cell phone today. He eventually weaved enough to clip a curb. That made him set down the phone for a moment, but when he realized the car still drove fine he picked it back up and kept on driving. Now imagine the distraction of a movie playing in your line-of-vision while you drive.KSNeptune

It is illegal. The installer showed me where i would have to hook up the wire to make able to play while in motion, but he is not allowed to hook up that one wire.

It all depends on how responsible the driver is.

But the Nav system works while driving, so staring at the map or a movie has the same effect in my eyes. Also, it is more for my wife and children.

No offense taken. I just like to get my point across. I just wanted to put the info out, that the screen could be used to play movies with an additonal DVD palyer.
