You will be an old codger like me one of these days and then you'll be amongst those complaining about young people driving like jerks.

I had better enjoy the country roads and driving like a jerk while I can then.

same here. the one thing that i do hate though is when retards drive like 30 to 40 in an apt complex knowing their are kids around that could run out at anytime.

I often have to jam on my brakes to avoid someone using two lanes or taking a blind corner too fast. But it's okay, because traffic cops are out there saving us from drivers going 25% over the speed limit on highways.

hahah nice walking stick I hear what your saying. The people probably getting pissed off at me is the ones I pass because they are doing 10km's under the speed limit and they can hear my exhaust as I rip by hahah That being said I really did slow it down yesterday.I also find it funny that when I drove a beater car at the same speed I never got bugged by anyone... now I have flashy wheels and a semi loud exhaust and bam instant slap on the face

You're just a shiny, easy target for their pent-up anger now.

I'm not going to lie, I probably would have told her to mind her own business. And then I would make sure to stop and rev like a madman in front of her house before I squeal the tires nice and loud every time I pass her house. I don't take kindly to people that aren't my boss at work telling me what to do.

I make sure if I drove spirited that no one follows me home..

You would really do such a thing to your neighbors? shame-shame LOLsull it's the exhaust that did ya in. Nothing worse than having to listen to a bunch of loud mufflers disturbing the neighborhood. Especially when not everyone works 9-5... some work third shift and are trying to sleep.what's your hurry anyways LOL you drive a station wagon lol

These darned youngsters keep driving their station wagons too fast and too loud! If you don't want to be singled out, you should only drive fast, quietly or drive slow, loudly. Vibes don't normally have the attention gathering potential that a screaming sports car, like a Vette or Ferrari, would under normal circumstances. I've noticed that a Vibe is pretty stealthy on the highway, even in the eyes of the law. Keep it reasonable in densely populated urban areas, and save the boy racer stuff for the track or deserted rural road. Just make sure you don't hurt anyone else or yourself for that matter.

Speaking of rural roads, I managed to see 130 in my Vibe GT a couple of weeks ago...in 5th. But don't hate me - deserted country road, late evening, no traffic, no farm equipment. I'm dumb, but not stupid.

Sorry to hear it man, don't let it bother you too much, must not be that great of neighbors if they won't say anything to your face...How are you suppose to do anything if they don't say anything?

In 5th no kidding, that's because it would start slowing down if you put it in 6th...lack of torque sucks. Anyways, sull just be respectful and say sorry/tell them you have an exhaust leak or something haha.

he, he....I remember doing over 100 going from San Diego to Las Vegas through the desert. We got a police escort from a Nevada cruiser going 85 mph. I figured at 100+, we could always run off into the cactus. No harm there (except to the cactus). I just wish that those who do want to go slow would move over. The kaos (that's Get Smart talk) they cause is unbearable. My one wish would be for people to stop drinking and driving/boating. Speed does kill (usually the person in the speeding car). Alcohol usually kills those they hit, with the drunk driver surviving due to their relaxed state upon impact.

If you like to drive fast, do so on open roads where it is safe. If you like to drive slow, stay to the right. ALWAYS drive slow in any residential areas.

There are a lot of kids and grandkids near my apartment, and with the weather turning nice out, I always take it extra careful in town. Mostly because I can put myself in the position of the nervous/angry parent or grandparent, and I know I'd be pretty pissed too.

Lane discipline. A great idea that is not used on our multi-lane roads and Interstates. Too bad, because lane discipline would make travel much faster and safer. And it's not rocket science.1. Left lane = fastest traffic.2. Right lane = slowest traffic.3. If there are more lanes in between, then these are for less than fastest to more than slowest. Unfortunately, 'kaos' generally rules and we are all slowed down.

@ajflan ... I am not going to either.. I was about to when I saw her pull out a cigarette. I just don't have any respect for that.... thinking at the time, why would I listen to you with a smoke in your mouth ... barf The road I live on is rural that's what gets me, the lady who told me to slow down because "people" are getting mad she lives 3 km away from me, sure yeah I live on a street with houses very close to each other and I slow down, but on this rural road which has 4 driveways max down a 15km road uhhh waaaaMy city and around are the worst for driving slow in the fast lane. I just came back from a trip in Van and man if you drive slow in the fast lane your screwed, I pretty much stayed in that lane all the time and just sped by everyone, I come home and there is idiots driving under the speed limit in the fast lane a guy has to going into the right lane to pass, hello?

I think this women likes to get involved with other people's problems when she really has no reason to involve herself. If an actual home owner who lives on that strip came to you and complained, that would be a reason to show some consideration. If people are really complaining about you driving too fast, keithvibe may be right about your exhaust giving you away. I know there's several types of exhaust silencers that can be fitted into aftermarket exhaust systems..Ive seem them in Jegs and other catalogs. I think the idea of them is to kill the drone but still allow the exhaust to sound cool when accelerating.

**** her, if she can light up right in front of you without even asking if you mind... She obviously doesn't care about herself. She has no right to tell you how to drive. Especially if the "neighborhood" is like you described... It's one thing flying down an alley or an apartment complex or a busy road. But on a road with nothing? come on. She'd LOVE me.... I'd probably tell her Thank you for your opinion now, go mind your own business and suck on that cancer stick.(I also want to point out we are not attacking "smokers" here as being an ex-smoker I know how hard it is to quit, and quite honestly I enjoyed smoking but quit for my health)
