mabey but my new speakers are definately much shallower than stock which means less woofer excusion which means not as loud bass.but on to what a like about them...they look cool as hell!!! theyre the red sony 6 1/2 three ways i mounted them on the door exposed soo you can see the cool red woofers with the silver and black "x"grills. (i need a camera) with 6 tweeters now the sound is much clearer too clearer cause now i hear the background radio hiss. but they can handle more power so now i car actually hear the music with all the windows down on the freeway

6 tweeters???? wow, what that cost andd whered you mount them?

might wanna consider door kits for them. you will have to buy 2 sets for 4 doors. Should get better Bass from your door speakers

mabey i said that wrong they are 3 ways which means they have built in tweeters for a total of 6 including the stock tweeters.

Are the speakers you bought "3-way", or do you think you have three way speakers because you bought 2-way speakers and hooked them a circuit that is probably just the low pass side of a crossover network?It's possible I'm way off base on this, but do you really like the sound this way? Are the tweeters in the door actually putting out any sound? Sounds like you're getting some more noise than before...

they are sony three ways the original tweeters are still hooked up . yes i like the sonys better.they are cleaner. louder and cooler looking with new added chrome trim.
