At least you asked Yes they are supposed to be run on premium fuel because they are high compression. If you run them on low grade they ping like crazy if you give them any gas in a high gear.

You can should be fine on 91 or 92 octane as well you shouldn't have to go searching for 93. I know in my town there is only a select few stations that have 93. Most are 92 or 91 for Premium.

Yup, octane is dependent on the area you live in, I live at a very low elevation so 92-94 is the norm here.

Yeah, same thing is said about my car. but its made to run on 91 and up. There will be a tiny almost non noticeable gain, so no worry if you run at least 91.

You can download a PDF copy of the owner's manual from http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1010I saw in another post where you said you bought a 2003 GT. On page 6-4 of the 2003 owners manual, the part that applies to your GT says:Quote »If your vehicle has the 1.8L H.O. DOHC engine(VIN Code L), use only premium unleaded gasolinewith a posted octane of 91 or higher. In an emergency, you may be able to use a lower octane -- as lowas 87 -- if heavy knocking does not occur. Refill yourtank with premium fuel as soon as possible. Otherwise, you might damage your engine. If you are using91 octane or higher-octane fuel and you hear heavyknocking, your engine needs service
