Has anybody experienced corrosion on their alloy wheels...especially around the valve-stem holes? Apparently due to salt accumulation from winter roads?

Do they use a lot of salt on the roads in Tucson?

...Mt. Lemmon is at ~10K-ft altitude and just 5-miles north of Tucson (2.6K-ft), and yes it snows in the winter and yes they use salt on rare occassions.

Notice tiny "chips" out of the aluminum? Peppered with pinholes? White scale? Rust! That's why tire centers sell (or try to sell you) winter steelies when you changeover to your winter tires.Fortunatly, in the Okanagan, only sand is used. Salt does jack below -12C anyways.
