Getting rattled

Post by ParknVibe »

My 2009 Vibe is developing noises in the driver door. I first was hearing rattling noises on the passenger side. I think it is also in that door as well. I do a lot of local street driving and the main roads are a mine field of holes and patches. I know of members with the older model had some noises in their doors. I know about the window recall, etc. Any 2009 owners have noises coming from within the doors? Any possible causes? WILL I void the warranty if I try to look for the cause myself?

I don't have any noises in the doors, but have heard a slight rubbing noise coming from the hatch glass lately I can only do my best to dodge all the potholes, but the freeway itself is another story. This monster moon crater is one that I avoid daily, and I took the pic to report that it could probably seriously hurt or kill a motorcyclist.

i use to get this rattle sound which i thought was coming from the driver side door. but when i listened closer it was actually coming from the circular air vent next to the pillar. i ended up taking that vent out and stuffed some stuff in there and seem to work. noise came back after a few days tho so i spent almost a week trying different things and locations. i ended up stuffing a leather cell phone belt clip holder thing in there and forced it between two plastic parts to prevent them from rubbing. been few months now and no more noise =D but i'm still getting an annoying rattle from the headliner usually in cold or cool days =/

I've been getting rattling noises from the driver door for a few weeks now. There are 2 distinctive ones. The first one comes from the center of the door, when the window is opened. The second sound comes from higher, almost to my ear's level, either from the door frame or somewhere under where the seat bealt comes out. It's not too much of a nuisance though so I guess it will wait until I drop the car for it's regular inspection in september

My 09 Vibe is nearly 11 months old, maybe 12 month because it was built in May. The car has been constantly driving on rough roads. The rattle noise in my door seems to come from left of my shoulder. With the window slightly opened, the noise seems to stop. But close the window and it starts rattling when going over a rough road. I read on this forum of someone saying that his lockset inside the door was loose and had to be tighten. In my case, it has the sound of something dangling (swinging around) and tapping on another metal body.

I get a rattle every now and then and I am sure it is between the vent and the dash.

I've had noises from the door that I determined were squeaking from the rubber molding that seals the door. I wipe it down with silicon lube or Armour All stuff and it goes away for a while. I posted about this once before and someone said the silcon wasnt good for the rubber molding. I've seen no harm so far.

I own the Service Manual set. I know how to remove the door panel. And, BTW. it is NOT the same as the older 2002-2008 models. All three screws are hidden behind covers. However I have not attempted this yet. Does anyone else have the 2009 Service Manual. It cost $150.00 plus shipping. It is three very big books. I would hope that someone here would have a picture of the door panel removed and really pictures of the interiors of the door openings and the parts within.Thank you!
