removing rack rails??

i tried to do a search on if anyone has removed the roof rack rails(not cross bars). i know i read about it somewhere on here, but couldnt find it. my questions is if anyone knows if you can remove them? i am sure there would be some screw holes on the roof, but does the roof look smooth with them off, or is there pertruding pieces sticking out? hope this makes sense.

LocDog tried and it can't be done without a little welding to cover up what's under the rack.

hey cool, i asked him how he did like you did. you get a response back yet? let me know, im very intereted. i must say though, that wing looks dumb, but thats just what i think.

I haven't received a response, but if I do I will let you know. I think the conversion looks flawless. The spoiler its ok, it would look better it the racks were still on. It would compliment the black and aluminum of the racks. That's my opinion.

Ricer? Yeah...he has my vote...bet that new gas cap adds at least 10 hp.
