ok here it goes... my buddy bought a new aftermarket head unit and was installing it in his 2004 pontiac vibe. he went out and bought all the hardware needed for it or so he thought...he bought a new stereo harness adaptor... i think thats what it called? it hooks to the factory stereo harness which in turn hooks to the aftermarket head unit...anyways i helped him with the hook up process and we got everything hooked up correctly, we were going to test it to make sure it worked, before putting the dash back together again. we turned the car on, the reciever turned on, we put a cd in it to test it out, and no sound came out of the speakers...all the functions worked on the reciever but no sound??? on the factory stereo there were two harnesses hooked to it, one with the 24 pins and another one that had four on it....we hooked the factory reciever back up and left out the one with the four pins and it worked fine. so now we dont know what to do, all the wires on the adaptor were used exept two, one was a 12v+ for a amp hook up i think and the other was a dimmer wire...? on the harness that came off the receiver there was an ATT wire that we dont know where it goes to, there also was a ANT wire that we dont know where is goes? so if anyone has any answers it would help my buddy an me out greatly...thx

do you have a moon and tune package/ sun and sound package?What is the harness number and name of then manuf that made the harness?photos go a long way! got any?

what the hell is the moon and toon package??? lol and we dont kno what the harness number is but we'll try to get the pic on here real soon aight...

SOunds like they have the M&T but didn't wire the remote turn-on for the amp. That what you were thinking Keith?

That what you were thinking Keith?x3Do you have a factory sub?If so you need to wire the amp in as well.Depending on the manu of the harness you may even have the wrong harness for the car.

we dont have anything in the car...no amp no subs nothing... just trying to hook up a receiver and its not working

k my b i read the thread from colonelpanic and it makes sence now so we'll try it

well if you do have the moon and tune factory monsoon sound system you will also needhttp://www.crutchfield.com/p_1...=2001or you will have very high levels of sound that will blow your speakers
