Does anyone know of a place I could get a silver tint to my windows instead of the just plain black? the only places I could find in Lake Orion/Oxford all said they don't do Silver (too expensive they say). Looking to stay within south-Eastern michigan as I work in Pontiac and live in Oxford.

Check Lookin-nu on Bladwin and Walton in Pontaic, Zebart in Waterford on M-59 and last choice is were I went to get Black tint and the cheapest was First Class auto also on 59 west of williams lake rd on your right. they did a decent job. but they had a few quirks about the place. lets just say there not the most professional. they were the cheapest of anywhere I went. bring a est. from another shop and they'll beat the price. heres some shots of my carhttp://photos.yahoo.com/horenziakI think I've seen you ride around before I also work in Pontiachope this helps

So, if you see a Silver GT on the streets, then yeah, it's prolly me.

GT-X How dark is your tinting? Your car is SHARP! I was wondering how it would look since I also have a Lava GT. Have you had any trouble with the cops in MI?Sorry for the post hijacking.

thanks for the props..the fronts are 35% and the rest are 20%, so far I havn't had any problems but i have only had them for 2 weeks. The fronts are light enough that you can see through them if you look directly at them, but still tinted from any other angle. I didn't want to go to dark because of the cops and also its a bright red car. Also I've had cars with all limo (5%) and they are a real pain in the a$$ to drive at night.

I was doing some research, and if I'm not mistaken the state law does not allow ANY tint on the front driver/passenger windows right? I wonder how much tint you can really get away with? Would a 35% tint on the front turn my Vibe into a ticket magnet? I wonder what kind of a ticket you would get for that?Any LE's input is welcome. Thanks.Tony with the salsa AWD. Yup it's slow but it gets me where I want to hunt.

a good family friend of mine is the Ferndale Police sargent. He was telling me that they will most of the time ignore a very light tint. so I'm assuming a 35% tint won't get you into too much trouble. He told me the only time they make a big deal about it is if the person who got pulled over is a smart alec, or drunk, or got pulled over for some other major offense. He also said that if you have your window already down by the time the cop gets there, then you usually won't have a problem.

This is probably one of the most helpful threads I've read on this site so far Todd - What do you do at S3? I that mag. The info on HPDE's was great. I've always wanted to try that!

Glad you like the mag, thanks for reading! I handle the planning of editorial and do a little bit of writing, such as the HPDE article. If you get the opportunity to do a HPDE go for it, it's a blast! We just did an autocross issue which featured a lot of sport compacts, and next up is a drag racing issue.

For silver tint do you mean a mirror tint? If ya do I know a few places in Brighton Mi that do it. I believe it is about 220 for all the windows and it is full warrenty on it. If ya want more info on where they are at or need some phone numbers let me know.
