While driving down the road the other day I noticed the inside of my '09 GT felt very warm, despite having the sunroof opened all the way. I checked to make sure the fan speed was on 0 and it was, yet I could still feel warm air blowing out of the vents (the temperature dial was turned all the way to the heat side from that morning). I pulled over on a side road and messed around with it. I tried all different settings on all the knobs and it was still blowing air out of the vents despite the fan speed being on 0. Now, I am no genius but the fan speed being on 0 to me means that heat/AC should be off. I thought maybe it was just air coming in from driving down the road, but if I turned it to the cold side, it would blow cold air. If I turned it to the heat side, it would blow warm air.Has anyone else experienced this on their '09? Is it supposed to be like this?Thanks in advance.

Think that may be normal. I know on our last gen Vibes, it is normal. Believe it even mentions something to that affect, i.e. circulating air or something, in the manual. That said, I haven't driven an 09.

Carrie,This is perfectly normal. I enjoy tilting my sunroof up on cool days while leaving the fan in the off position and simply controlling the temperature, and subsequent comfort level, with the temp dial. With the sunroof open or tilted, the venturi effect will flow a pretty fair amount of air through the ventilation system without the assistance or need of the fan. It is designed this way. If you do not want any outside airflow into the cabin of the vehicle, try pushing the recirculation button. Enjoy!PlatinumVibe08

I noticed this also on my new vibe. Actually first noticed it on the Aveo that I had for a loaner while the insurrance figured out what was going on with my other car. I never thought my Cooper or the Sable had as much free flow air as this car while in motion. I think it all has to do where the air intake is located under the hood as to how much of a ram air effect the forward movement of the vehicle has on circulation through the vents. Havn't had the hood open much on is but I will investigate later.

Perfectly normal. A certain amount of airflow is normal on any car to cause a tiny bit of positive cabin pressure, thus preventing any exhaust gases from potentially entering the vehicle.The Vibe just seems a little more direct about it than any other car I've had. At 70mph, you can feel a slight breeze through the vents.

I always just put my temp in the middle or full cool, or shift the vent selector to the defrost section.

I've noticed this in every car I've ever driven, but I agree that it's especially noticeable in the Vibe.Kind of nice in the summer/winter to keep the car warm or cool without blasting yourself with air. However, I've had plenty of instances where I thought to myself "Why is my car so warm/cold? I KNOW I turned the fan off!"

Want to report that this is normal as it has occurred with basically every vehicle I have ever owned including:2004 Vibe, 2008 Vibe, and (2) 2009 Vibe's

When I first noticed this it seemed like the air was coming out pretty strong which I wasn't used to with my old Sunfires which is why it worried me, but after well over a year of ownership I now know that it's completely normal with the Vibe.
