Personally I think of all the major sports the playoff path to the Stanley Cup is the most gruelling.

No matter how much the Wings win, they get no attention from the national "experts".I'm kinda hoping we get the Capitals and Ovechkin this year in the Finals so we can knock another star off his pedestal.Seemed like every Sunday on NBC this year it was some combination of NY, Philly, or Pitt playing. The one time I saw the Wings we played Pitt (and I think their coach got fired a little while later).

Wings game last night was a catch 22. First off, they did not play well at all for the 1st 30 minutes of the game. Then, the ref's decided to make to weak calls. one that led to a PP goal which was not interference and then when the puck was atually not dead. The thing is, the ref was out of position and lost site of the puck. Eh.

Hawks = 3rd Period Team. Also, the addition of Scotty B in the front office helped a lot too. Luongo and Mats deserve better; that is for sure. Any comments on the Pens-Caps series?

Anyone else hate Versus? Versus claimed they were going to show the Wings-Ducks game 3 in the Detroit area, where I live. But, I get DirecTV, & they didn’t show the beginning of the game until after the Chicago game ended in OT. When I called DirecTV to complain, they were mystified. I am so very glad the remaining games for this series are on FSD.

I am so very glad the remaining games for this series are on FSD.Yeah; we missed portions of the game. A few folks (not from the forum) got together to watch the game at a sports bar. It was a tough loss, that is for sure. I was at the Joe for Games #1 and #2; Game #2 was a heart breaker and emotionally draining; watching the game for almost 6 whole periods. VS is ok; they are not the best. I rather have some form of hockey on the tube than no hockey at all. Chicago advances and Pens/Caps going to game 7. Shocked no one has mentioned the Bruins/Canes series; especially the punch former Wing Aaron Ward took to the face from former "to catch a predator" Scott Walker. Awfavre - when do you want everyone to get together for those drinks?

Wings win in a tough series. Canes beat the Bruins in OT by Scott Walker's 1st playoff goal.

It does sadden me that the Bruins did not advance. Yet, I am a Staal/Cole/Ward fan also. CBC News last night had a quick joke about the Nucks being out of the playoffs, it was pretty funny. They were showing a village in Somalia (I think) and pretending to interviewing this woman about the disheartening loss or something. Then there was a goat chewing and it was voiced over. I only caught a quick second of it, was cute for sure.

I am heartbroken over the B's loss....was really hoping it was going to be our year. Good to see an "Original Six" Western final though, it would have been amazing to see a Stanley Cup original six final!

Well...Game #3 was a total wash as the zebras where literally blind... Bad call on Knonvall - it was a clean hit... Stuart took a high stick that required stitches and that penalty was missed... Game #4, Wings were down Pavel, Nick, Lilja, and Drapes... Hossa , Z, and Flip broke out of their slump... Wings win 6-1 and lead the series 3-1.Lets see if we can put this series away Wednesday...

The officiating has been horrible. The non call on the too many men on the ice last night was a beauty. But in general the complete inconsistency on what they call for either team...how are these the best officials? You never know what's getting called, flagrant violations in clear view go uncalled, ticky tack calls get made, and the same calls vary throughout the game, something might not be a penalty for 2 periods and then it is and vice versa. How are the players supposed to play with that going on?This is probably one thing I can agree on with the Pens (and Hawks, and Ducks, and etc) fans on.

Sadly, inconsistent officiating is part of the NHL game. I'd like to see the whistles put away for the most part in playoff games, only calling the flagrant violations that even the organ player sees. Pens are my number 2 team (after the mighty Oil of course) and I want to see Mario get down there and lift that Cup, but it seems the NHL wants the same thing and it's showing in how the game is called. Did anyone notice a linesmen instruct the 6th Penguins player to get the heck off the ice, rather than make a call? Blatant favourtism in my eyes. If the Pens had home ice advantage, I think they could win, but with Detroit out matching them in depth and getting more of the favourable line matchups, I can't see Detroit surrendering the 2 game lead. Pens fans - we just gotta hope that Osgood gets injured or pulled and then you can witness the debacle that is Ty Conklin.... here in Edmonton we know too well how quickly he can cost you the Cup.

watching the game last night, the Pittsburgh crowd shots compared to the Detroit crowd shots of the first two games in the finals, those Pittsburgh women are a lot chestier than the Detroit women.

Kinda watching the finals now......have not watched much hockey since my beloved Bruins did not get that OT bounce they so deserved. So my Bruins and my Celtics are gone....some time I hate sports.lol

Hey now, Mr. Ty "Winter Classic" Conklin aka Conkblock did pretty good this season for us while Osgood struggled.
