Ok... some of you know that I put a turbo on my 1zz 5spd vibe....comically ,this was my 1st mod....on a moon ntuned .,that's all vibe..with steelies....so I am out 3g's on the turbo...but broke...but I have traction issues..so I guess this could be in the wheel and tire forum, but when I get new wheels, from a purely performance stand point,...what size should I get? ...7.5 is the widest I have seen for 16's and is 8" the widest wheel we can fit?..also....I dont have a new clutch..but I am not a big launcher anyway...I have a lot of back winding roads that I take to work each day, so I need tires for good handling , and any suspension suggestions are welcome as well..I am puttting down around 200hps so i want to use them wisely.... any suggestions?

It's not necessarily the width of the tire (although that usually helps) so much as the compound, sidewall ratio and sidewall stiffness. What you're looking for is a good (cheap) performance tire. Problem is, the higher the performance, the shorter the life... things do get expensive when you mod Good on ya though to first do the important stuff (POWER!!!) over stickers and wings and such.Anyway, a good light stiff wheel (steel's not the greatest) with reasonable performance tires will improve your handling immensly. I'm sure some of the guys on this board will give you great advice and for an alternative source if you want, http://www.canadiandriver.com has a great wheel&tire forum where an online retailer provides good info on tires - price vs. performance. From what I've seen "Bob" really helps provide you with a good idea for a tire in your performance & price range. It's a Canadian site so maybe you can pick up some tires and benefit from your exchange rate!

got my Kumho Ecsta's (Tires) from tirerack.com....a STEAL at $56/tire....took them racing down country backroads twice this week and I dont even feel like im driving the same car!! These things stick to the road way past the limits of my suspension. So basically my speed in the corners now is only limited by the stock suspension. I love these tires!!! They are made of GLUE, but not expensive and still have a reasonable 380 treadwear rating!!!-Phil
