Anyone notice any difficulties today? I backed up my data files before connecting to he internet. I read that you should try to connect to Symantec and if you can't that's a clue you have a problem - but I think that site may be slammed so failure to connect might just be a traffic issue.

I already have NA2009. It updated on 3/30/08 and ran a full scan on 3/18 and quick on 3/30/08 as well. My computer was fine this morning.

If you're talking about conficker there were a lot of easy ways to scan and clean your pc available before April 1st.Most anti-virus companies offered free scan tools designed specificaly to find and remove conficker. Those tools are still available on their website. One noted aspect of Conficker-D was that it would block access to anti-virus tools to stop you from removing it but that only meant you had to download the tool from another computer and them transfer it to the infected pc.Once the worm has been removed (if it was even present), installation of windows patch MS08-067 resolved the vulnerability exploited by the worm. The worm started modifying itself today but for now there are no report as to what it's going to do once it's activated. For now, it's only digging deeper into infected computers to be harder to remove so detection tools may no longer be effective but there is no official word out.Just make sure your important data is backed up in case you need to reformat. Don't panic even if some crappy news article told you to. Terrosists aren't watching you trough your pc, or stealing your latest music file. We all have to wait and see what Conficker's real use is.Unplugging your pc from the internet for the day to skip April 1st and replugging it on April 2nd doesn't work so if anybody was planning on using this master plan... better luck next time.Worldwide infection is said to be around 6%If you own a Mac, you may enjoy your day as usual.Microsoft Online scan and removal tool:http://onecare.live.com/site/e...d=sahSymantec Conficker removal tool:http://www.symantec.com/securi...47-99TrendMicro Conficker removal tool:http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp

No problems here, though considering I don't run Windows regularly, that doesn't surprise me.

I work as IT for GE Healthcare, support about 700 users and all together GE has over 100,000 employees world wide, not issues here. Keep the virus definitions up to date and the Windows patches, you should be ok.
