Hey, new to the forum, but not to Vibes. Just picked this one up in Mansfield, OH and drove home to Wichita, KS. Previously owned an 04 Salsa Auto, 05 Frosty Auto and 04 Silver 5 speed. Just decided to upgrade to a GT with only 35k miles I found for a good price. Love it!

Thanks for all the friendly welcomes. We bought our 1st Vibe (04 Salsa auto) in 2006 with 19k miles after having a 98 Cad STS that was a shop queen. My wife & I both loved it, but after about a year with it, I got power hungry and bought a 2004 Vue with the Honda 250hp V-6. It was nice, but when gas was close to $4 per gallon in 2008, we sold it and bought a 2005 Frosty auto with 18k miles. After having it about 7 months, my wife decided she wasn't going to be able to drive anymore due to neuropathy cause by her diabetes. I then decided to get a manual Vibe and just missed out on a 05 Salsa GT, but bought an 04 Silver base 5 speed with 64k. It was nice, but left me wanting for more power, so after only 2 months with it, I was searching for another Salsa GT (our favorite color), found a really clean one with 34k, negotiated a good price, sold the silver one and hopefully now content. Out of the 111 cars since I was 14, the Vibe is in the top 10 as favorites/keepers and I only have 2 keepers at the moment. I grew up on early model Corolla's, so owning a Vibe seems pretty natural. I think it is a one of a kind vehicle having driven the HHR and looking at PT Cruisers and other small wagons. It seems to be the lightest, best built, most highly rated, best MPG and safest car-rossover in it's class. I'll quit rambling now, but here are a couple of pix of the other Vibes. See both Salsa in the Salsa forum. Oh, and I just found this forum, but I'm the site admin/unofficial VP at
http://www.wichitabmw.com, see me as BMWPete65.

SalsaGT welcome,Wow, that's quite a journey with the Vibes since 2006. Sorry to hear your wife can't drive the vibe anymore due to her health. The photos show you've found some great Vibes. I agree with your assessment on the Vibe in its class. How did you find your newest Salsa? What car websites do you like for shopping? Wow, 111 cars since you were 14, why so many?!!! I was happy to read that the Vibe is in your top 10.

PS. I just took my 2004 for it's annual state inspection and it did not need anything done and once again passed with flying colors. Long live the Vibe.

How did you find your newest Salsa? What car websites do you like for shopping? Wow, 111 cars since you were 14, why so many?!!! I was happy to read that the Vibe is in your top 10. Found it on autotrader, I like that one can search for specific features such as manual transmission. Cars.com is another fav as well as craigslist & ebay. I've purchased cars from all these sites & more. Why so many? I'm just a certified car junky and yes, I have owned some junky cars. Only 1 new one, back in 85, a new Civic S. The most I ever paid for one was in 08 when we bought the 05 Frosty for $12,9 at a dealer. Prices seem to have come down since then on Vibes in general. During the gas crisis you couldn't hardly find one anywhere. Now they seem to be everywhere! Sometime after I get some pix scanned from my old 35mm cam, I'll post some of my other favorite old cars. Until then, here's my other daily & longtime keeper, my 94 325is, purchased in San Diego off ebay in 06 with only 35k miles on it. Pete

Hey Mac, glad to hear another Salsa will be close to me in KS. My oldest brother went to K-State in the late 60's and used to run his Mini Cooper 1275S around the roads up at Tuttle Creek by Manhattan. There are quite a few fun roads closer to Wichita, in the Winfield area, one that made AutoWeeks favorite roads by state. It is called the Grouse Creek Road. See here:
http://www.motorides.com/ It starts in Dexter, KS where Helium was first discovered. Quaint little town.Didn't do much digging, is your Salsa a GT too? What kind of mods on it?
