or my house anyway. Looks like about a year ago judging by the car. That's my little shack in the middle with my old black Jetta parked in front. That restaurant, two doors down on the left, is the whose roof just scratched up my vibe . Weird. Eerie, really.

Wow, how the hell do they manage to get a shot like that. That's obviously not satellite photo. Do they have someone driving the streets shooting photos of residences?

Yes, I've seen their cars driving down the street a few times. There's a slender pyramid-shaped thing on a roof rack with a little dome on top for the GPS antenna and a 360-degree turret underneath that for the panoramic camera. Snaps a picture every 100' or so as it goes down each street.

For the StreetView shots, they have people drive around with some kind of panoramic/fisheye camera attached to the vehicle and it takes those shots.

Driving on military bases, drug deals, bewbies, I think there was at least one dead person, people whining about it...Kind of creepy and kind of cool, can help you get an idea when going someplace new.A9 had something similar with lots of it done already and then they backed out of the search biz. Poopheads.

heyyyyyy . Actually, I know this. We decided to abandon upkeep of the front yard, for the most part. Heavy traffic out front, and jerks throwing trash into our yard all the time. Gets annoying and we don't hang out there (in fact, our view across the street is a big, neon-lit gas station. not very soothing). We hang out in the back, which is much more cozy and lush. And besides, google didn't let us know they were coming, or we would've cleaned up

here's another, just a bit closer. Taken from the parking lot across the street, apparently. This one better illustrates the chaotic traffic that happens outside my house all day, every day.

few other nifty things you can find on google earth.the white house:stealth bombers:random peace sign scraped into the earth outside a military base:this is in California, I believe, where cold war-era planes go to die:if this creeps you out even more, just imagine that this is technology that is free on the internet. Imagine what state of the art satellite photos will get you. here's NUMMI, where all of our Vibes were spawned:and a 2nd pic of the NUMMI lot:

Yes, the back fence in the alley for some reason, and no, not me! lol Not sure why it would have given you that view, the front of the house shows my Vibe and dually I used to have! lol I don't know how to do a screen grab on this Mac or I would have just saved it and posted it. Pick up the man and move him around the corner onto Ocean View Blvd. I'm across the street from the hideous bright blue house.

...that's Davis-Monthan AFB, located at Tucson, AZ....formally called USAF Aircraft Maintenance And Regeneration Center (AMARC) and informally called the "boneyard."...they drive around in a GPS-positioned car with cameras taking pictures forward, aft, and to each side.

The AFB picture with the old planes was on History Channel. Those greenish colored ones are actually older bombers that back in the 60's-80's flew in a figure 8 pattern over the North to track and retaliate against potential early strikes from the Russians. Per agreements and legislation they mutually agreed to lessen the arsenal and to prove to the USSR that we were cooperating we had to cut the wings off and have them layed out as you see here so their satellites could see.

Street view isn't available in canada yet, but today was the third time i have passed a street view google car on the highway. So they are obviously getting ready for the canada launch.
